Drawing this angle

At 22.5 degrees, the turn is small enough that both eyes remain useful guides, but their spaces on the page are already unequal. Place the nose in relation to the whole head shape first. Then measure the visible width from the nose to each cheek. The far half of the face becomes narrower as it wraps away; giving both halves the same width will flatten the turn.

Watch the far cheek beside the eye and the way it approaches the nose. Keep the eye line connected across the curved face, even where the nose interrupts your view. On the near side, compare the ear with the brow and the base of the nose before drawing its interior. Use the tonal plate to locate the cheek's broad surface change. Make a second sketch with the face left blank, retaining only the nose direction, cheek boundary and jaw, and check whether the slight turn still reads.
